Chocolate Dipped Marshmallow Stir Sticks

marshmallow and popcorn ball sticksWhat is a cup of hot cocoa without a marshmallow? The pictured log holder transports the marshmallow and popcorn ball sticks to a skating or sledding location. Even for an indoor winter party, the log holder and “lollipops” look festive on a buffet table. To create these delicious Chocolate Dipped Marshmallow Stir Sticks, here is what you will need:

  •  Large marshmallows
  • 3 ounces white chocolate
  • 3 ounces dark chocolate
  • Peppermint stick – crushed
  • Shaved chocolate curls or chocolate sprinkles
  • Lollipop sticks (found in cake decorating aisle)

Melt the chocolates in small ceramic bowls. Skewer marshmallows on lollipop sticks and dip the marshmallows in the melted (but not too hot) chocolate. Before the chocolate has hardened, sprinkle the dipped marshmallow with crushed peppermint or chocolate curls. The lollipop stick helps stir the marshmallow into hot cocoa.

To make the log holder, we found the perfect half log on our wood pile and drilled holes about 2” deep. Once the stir sticks disappear into hot cocoa, the log can be tossed on your bonfire.
